Cebuana Lhuillier Sports Ambassador Francis Casey Alcantara continues his amazing start in 2024 winning another ITF Challenger in India, this time with partner Christopher Ruangkat, Indonesia’s top player, to maintain his career-best world doubles ranking of 176.

This is after coming from semifinals and finals run for Alcantara, who is poised to dislodge his fellow Cebuana Lhuillier Sports Ambassador Ruben Gonzales as the country’s number 1 doubles 1 player with the rate he is going. Alcantara is going back to Thailand to lay another series of Challenger tournaments after briefly going back to the country to receive his award.

There’s no other man who is more elated and proud than Unified Tennis Philippines (UTP) President and Alcantara’s sponsor for a long-time now, Jean Heanri Lhuillier.

“I am so proud and elated with how Nino has been playing since late last year. He deserves it for all his hard work and Cebuana Lhuillier and I are here to support him in his quest for greater glory for the country. I hope he cracks the top 100 and gets to play in the majors later this year and in the years to come,” said Lhuillier.

“I’m just taking it 1 tournament, 1 match at a time and hopefully all the hard work will produce great results. I’m just thankful for all my supporters, especially Jean Henri Lhuillier and Cebuana Lhuillier for always being there for me,” said Alcantara.

Alcantara is a former Australian Open Doubles juniors champion and SEA Games gold medalist together with Ruben Gonzales.-Marlon Bernardino-
