Former World Boxing Organization (WBO) interim world bantamweight champion Reymart Gaballo will now face another opponent in his scheduled February 13 bout. His manager JC Mananquil officially announced that Gaballo will now have a new adversary in his fight at the Midas Hotel and Casino in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

Gaballo originally was scheduled to fight Indonesian Flasidus Nuno. But there were alterations in the selection of opponent and Gaballo will now be fighting a deadlier rival in Phai Pharob of Thailand.

Pharob has more fights at 38 with 35 wins, 3 losses and 27 knockout victories compared to Nuno with only 11 professional bouts and a record of 8-1-2 with 6 knockouts.

The 40-year-old Pharob is a former WBO Oriental light flyweight champion. This will be Gaballo’s first fight since June 17, 2023, where he bagged the WBO Oriental bantamweight title by winning over countryman Michael Bravo by split decision in Manila.

The 27-year-old Gaballo (26-1, 21 knockouts) is looking for his third straight win since his lone career loss, a fourth round knockout defeat to Nonito Donaire Jr. on December 11, 2021 for the WBC bantamweight title. Gaballo of Polomolok, South Cotabato is now training at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.
