Do-it-all big man Pascal Siakam showed his true worth that prompted the Indiana Pacers to pursue him in a mid-season trade as he led the Pacers to a 134-122 win over the Philadelphia 76ers while registering his first triple double with his new team.

Siakam scored team highs of 26 points and 13 rebounds on top of 10 assists as he complimented regular Pacers center Miles Turner in battling the Joel Embiid-powered 76ers. Turner scored 20 points and pulled down 9 rebounds for the Pacers. Embiid led the 76ers with 30 points with Tyrese Maxey supporting him with 19 points. But the 76ers missed the services of Tobias Harris in this game.

Despite the win though, Indiana (25-20)remained mired at 6th in the Eastern Conference 10 won games behind the Boston Celtics which remained safely on top with a road win today, 143-110 against the Miami Heat

Meanwhile the Denver Nuggets suffered a one-sided 122-84 defeat on the road to the New York Knicks, with the Nuggets (31-15) falling to third in the leadership race in the Western Conference behind the idle Oklahoma City Thunder (31-13) and current pace setter Minnesota Timberwolves (32-13) which also won on the road today over the New Jersey Nets, 96-94.

Three time season MVP Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 31 points but he got little support from Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr who were limited by the Knicks resolute defense to 12, 9 and 5 points respectively.

The Knicks on the other hand sustained a balance attack led by OG Onunoby (26) Jalen Brunson (21); Quentin Grines (19), Julius Randle (17), Dante DiVincenzio (16) and Miles McBride (13).
