Pinoy boxers losing skein in Japanese ring goes on as four more Filipino fighters going down in defeat against their Japanese foes, all but one losing via the short route Saturday night at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
Roldan Aldea went down via first round knockout against Masahiro Suzuki in their scheduled 12 round return bout for the vacant Orient Pacific lightweight championship. Aldea and Suzuki had fought to draw in their first match in October last year also in Japan necessitating the rematch.
Former IBF minimumweight titlist Rene Mark Cuarto failed in his comeback losing by 6th round TKO against Shokichi Iwata in their scheduled 8 round non-title bout. It was Cuarto's second straight loss in Japan having been stopped last year by Ginjiro Shigeoka in an interim title bout.
Jhess Rhey Waminal also got stopped in the very first round of a scheduled 8 round featherweight bout against undefeated and taller Makito Nakano. It was an unfortunate loss for Waminal who has previously reigned as Asia super bantamweight titlist.
Only Joseph Ambo was able to hear the final bell in losing a lopsided 12 round decision to undefeated Kenji Fujita in their bout for the WBO Asia Pacific featherweight title.
