Terence "Bud" Crawford is back training in the boxing gym five months after his sensational victory over Errol Spence Jr. last July 29. The 36-year-old unified welterweight champion Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) posted on his social media account, “Back to business as usual,” which means he might have a fight that he is planning to engage at.

Crawford of Omaha, Nebraska, dreamed of getting a juicy payday by fighting Canelo Alvarez but that match seemed hard to fulfill. "Bud" on Instagram showed a picture of him in the gym possibly preparing for Canelo but the Mexican star has already said many times that he’s not interested in that fight because he has nothing to gain.

The most immediate fight that Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) could possibly get is with undefeated IBF welterweight champion Jaron "Boots" Ennis who has an amazing career record of 31-0 with 28 knockout wins. But Crawford would possibly not risk fighting Ennis in a lower purse fight.

Canelo had already beaten a smaller guy in Jermell Charlo last May and it has no significant impact on his career. Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KOs) entered the ring as the undisputed junior middleweight champion.

Alvarez successfully defended his undisputed supermiddleweight titles against the undisputed junior middleweight champ, scoring a 7th round knockdown and winning nearly every round on the scorecards. Two judges scored the fight 118-109, with the other judge having it 119-108.

“I definitely don’t think Crawford is scared. It was to make sense for him financially because right now, it’s business for him,” said Danny Garcia to Fighthype through Boxing 24 when asked if he believes Crawford will fight Ennis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the IBF welterweight title.

“In boxing, everything has to make sense, and I think for Crawford, he feels it don’t make sense [to fight Jaron Ennis]. Everybody wants to get paid millions. So, I feel like it’s harder to make these fights,” added Garcia.

Free agent guard Scotty Pippen Jr. agreed on a two-year, two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, his agent, Erika Ruiz of Klutch Sports Group, told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday. Pippen Jr., 23, averaged 18.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.8 steals in five games with the NBA G League's South Bay Lakers this season.

Undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2022, Pippen played in six games for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2022-23 NBA season, averaging 2.3 points and 5.3 minutes. He is the son of Chicago Bulls great and Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen. Scottie Pippen is a six-time NBA champion and one of the league's 50 greatest players.
