King's Gambit Online Chess School Marticio Siblings Shine in Youth Chessfest

Chess siblings Jeremy and Jersey Marticio of King's Gambit Online Chess School of Coach Richard Villaseran dominated the Mayor Marcy and Congresswoman Teodoro FIDE Standard Youth Chess with Jeremy Marticio winning the U20 category while Jersey Marticio tying for 1st on the U16 Open section (combined boys and girls)
Jeremy scored a clutch win in the last round against erstwhile solo leader Janmyl Tisado to rule the premier U20 category.

Jersey likewise scored an all-important victory in the last round against fellow King's Gambit Online Chess School player National Marster Al-Basher Buto to catch erstwhile co-leaders Sumer Oncita and JP Cabales.

Jian Carlo Rivera likewise won his last round match against Jerick Faeldonia to finish in a tie for 4th in the U16 while National Master Al-Basher Buto settled for 8th place after his last round loss to Marticio.

Woman National Master Antonella Racasa copped the Top U16 Marikina Player for Girls Special Award.

Clord Bragais claimed the Top U16 Marikina Playe for boys prize while 7 year old Magnus Bragais took home the U8 category award.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Alekhine Sapuan underscored his being one of the top youngsters in their region by claiming 3rd place in the U13 rapid Tournament in Dumaguete City.

"It' a very good performance for our players. The Marticio siblings are one of our brightest prospects for an FM and WIM title by the end of 2025," said Coach Richard Villaseran.-Marlon Bernardino-
