International Boxing Federation minimum weight champion Florante Condes (22-3-1, 20 ko?S) is ?sharply focused? according to well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani who said they will leave for La Paz, Mexico tomorrow morning.
In an overseas telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today from the Vagabond Inn which is next to the Wild Card Gym, Gello-ani said Condes has been working out at the gym of Freddie coach, ?jogs every morning, works out in the gym and is very confident? of retaining his title against undefeated Raul ?Rayito? Garcia (22-0-1, 15 ko?S) on June 14.
Gello-ani said Condes ?is in great condition, sleeps well and recovered immediately? from the long flight from Manila to Los Angeles. The promoter who together with international matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz helped arrange the title defense in which Condes? purse is $50,000 said ?we have no problems with him.?
