
Datamatics Team champs in Rising Chess Unlimited

Final Standings:
1st: Datamatics Team A (10 match points and 13.5 game points, P30,000 plus trophy)
2nd: Espana Arcade Manila (10 match points and 13.0 game points, P15,000 plus trophy)
3rd: Hamburger Attack (10 match points and 12 game points, P10,000 plus trophy)
4th: Paloyski Blue's (9 match points, 14 game points, P5,000)
5th: Money Makers (8 match points, 13 game points, P4,000)
MANILA---At Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, Quezon City, on Sunday, October 29, Rising Chess Unlimited Chess Team Championship was dominated by Datamatics Team A.
As the Glory Grace Branzuela, The Coach and Captain of the entire team with support of John Michael Magpily, Jhulo Goloran led the Datamatics chess team to the championship also featured Marc Kevin Labog and Stephen Manzanero.
Datamatics nabbed four wins and got two draw to crown the 1-day tournament backed up by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Director and Asenso Misamis Occidental Chess Association (AMOFCA) president Rey Cris Urbiztondo.
Espana Arcade Manila placed second, Hamburger Attack ended up third, while rounding out the top five were fourth Paloyski Blue's and fifth Team Money Makers.
Datamatics Team A, Espana Arcade Manila and Hamburger Attack tallied 10 match points apiece, however, after the tie break points were applied, Datamatics Team A got a better 13.5 game points against Espana Arcade Manila 13 game points and Hamburger Attack 12 game points.
Meanwhile, the Datamatics Team B composed of Don Tyrone Delos Santos, Jay-r Sumagang and John Mauricc Delos Santos finished over-all 21st place.
"Congratulations to all the winners and participants of this great event, your hard work didn’t go unnoticed, and we appreciate you all for your time and efforts," said Urbiztondo, an online Arena Grandmaster.
Urbiztondo, meanwhile, invited the country's woodpushers to participate in the 1st Governor Henry S. Oaminal 8-in-1 Chess Festival gets underway on Nov. 10-12 at the Ozamis City Auditorium in Misamis Occidental.-Marlon Bernardino-
