
King's Gambit Online Chess School Bet NM Inigo Continues to Shine

King's Gambit Online Chess School's National Master Michael Jan Stephen Rosalem Inigo continues his onslaught winning the championship and tying for 2nd in back-to-back tournaments.
The newly-minted National Master Inigo, training under the guidance of King's Gambit Onlines Chess Founder Coach Richard Villaseran, dominated his older rivals in the 25-Under rapid tournament held in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.
The 16 year old Inigo followed it up with a strong tie for 1st finish in an open tournament in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
National Master Inigo is also coming from a strong 2nd place finish in the National Amateurs Chess Championships Grandfinals held in Tagaytay City, to clinch his last national master norm and crown himself as the newest national master in the country.
Not to be outdone, 11 year old Joriel James Yap, played beyond his years, besting his opponents, some of them twice his age, tying for 2nd in an U25 rapid chess tournament in Davao City. Yap is gunning for the gold medal in the upcoming Batang Pinoy U13.
"Those were amazing results by Inigo and Yap. Bonbon (Inigo) is on the roll and he is motivated than ever after securing his much-deserved NM title. Joriel (Yap) is an amazing talent and he proved that tying for 3rd against competition that were twice his age. Expect greater results from these 2 players," said Coach Villaseran.
Tiv Omangay, on the other hand, tied for 8th and emerged as the top U17 player in the open rapid chess tournament in Pampanga.
John Luis Rivera and 7 year old Marco Sanido placed 9th and 10th in the Rizal Youth U13 while Janina Claire Rivera placed 9th in the U13 Girls.
Coach Villaseran remains confident to achieve his vision of producing minimum 5 FIDE Masters and 2 Woman International Masters by 2025.-Marlon Bernardino-
