
King's Gambit Online Chess School Bet Inigo Tops Chess Tilt, Eyes National Amateur Chess Championships

King's Gambit Online Chess School bet 15-year-old Michael Jan Stephen Inigo of Bayawan, Negros Oriental topped an Open Tournament in Dumaguete, beating older and higher-rated rivals, underscoring his readiness for the upcoming National Amateur Chess Championships to be held in Tagaytay City.
13-year-old National Master Keith Ilar on the other hand, stunned 3 National Masters in Levi Mercado, Vince Medina and Henry Lopez and drew with National Master Bob Jones Liwagon to emerge as the top U14 player while also making it to the top 15 of the Cong. Alan Dujali FIDE-rated rapid open championships held in Iligan City.
Over at the Balinas Open Rapid tournaments, 16-year-olds Christian Mendoza and Woman National Master Tonelle Racasa scalped older and higher-rated players to emerge as the top U18 boys and girls making it top the top 15 and top 20 overall, respectively. Mendoza held Grandmaster Joey Antonio to a draw in the penultimate round.
Siblings Jersey and Jeremy Marticio swept the top 2 places in a Junior Tournament on Laguna.
King's.Gambit Online Chess School Founder and Head Coach Richard Villaseran was impressed and elated with his wards' performances.
"Inigo, Ilar, Mendoza, Racasa, the Marticio siblings Jeremy and Jersey are 6 of our program's top prospects to become FIDE Masters and Woman International Masters within the next 2 years. I have very high hopes on them and the other players in our program.
Underscoring the depth of Coach Villaseran's programs are his other players successes.
8-year-old Magnus Bragais scored a prefect 7/7 to top Marikina's U9 Batang Pinoy Qualifying tournament to secure a slot in the Batnag Pinoy Grand finals to be held in December. Bragais also emerged as the top U8 player in the Balinas Rapid Open Championships the day before. Gab Paradero, meanwhile, was the top U14 tounament in the same tournament.
Zed Silva on the other hand also booked a spot in the Batang Pinoy after emerging runner up in a Laguna qualifier.
12-year-old Enzo Hernandez on the other hand made his way to the Junior Highschool varsity team of the Ateneo de Manila University Chess team.

The King's Gambit Online Chess School team is busy preparing for some upcoming tournaments.
Inigo, Chester Acuyong, WNM Racasa and Alexandro Desepeda are eyeing the National Amateur Juniors, Women and U13 categories respectively while Coach Richard Villaseran, Jeremy Marticio will join FIDE Master Randy Segarra as they seek to win the 1st South Luzon Chess Team Tournament to be held on October 15 in Sta.
