International Boxing Federation minimum weight champion Florante Condes yesterday vowed to give his all and "do everything possible in the ring to bring home my world title."

Condes made the statement shortly before his departure aboard a Philippine Airlines flight for Los Angeles en route to La Paz, Mexico for his mandatory title defense against undefeated Mexican Raul "Rayito" Garcia on June 14.

Condes was accompanied by trainer Danny Bactol and well-known promoter/boxing manager Sammy Gello-ani who together with international matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz was instrumental in finalizing the title defense for which Condes was assured of a purse of $50,000.

Bactol said that Condes would train at the Wild Card Gym in the afternoons and do his jogging in the mornings during their five-day stay in LA.

Bactol said he was "almost one hundred percent sure" that Condes who trained for weeks at the famed ALA Gym in Cebu would retain his title saying he had confidence in the champion?s punching power. Bactol said "I believe in Florante?s power. He is in great shape and strong and now has flexibility, speed and punches in combinations which is what we have worked on in training."

The fight plan according to Condes? trainer is for him to "feel out Garcia in the opening round. Size up his style and punching power" before going after the challenger. Bactol said "one round is enough for us to size him up before going after Garcia but not recklessly."
