Young, Suelo, Bernardino, boost Team Ledda Farms, Bolinao Warriors in PCAP Inter-Commercial Chess Team Championships

MANILA---International Master Angelo Abundo Young, National Masters Robert Suelo Jr. and Almario Marlon Quiroz Bernardino Jr. will reinforce the Ledda Farms, Bolinao Warriors seeking nothing less than glory when the 1st PCAP-Professional Chess Association of the Philippines Inter-Commercial Chess Team Championships gets underway on August 19, 20 and 26 at the Estancia Mall, Pasig City.

Bayanihan Chess Club legal counsel head Atty. Rodolfo Enrique "Rudy" Rivera made the announcement of the Celeste backed up team that would also be composed of CM Genghis Imperial, Noel Jay "Super B" Estacio, Atty. Reddy Ceralde Balarbar, Errenz Denisson Calitisin, Roberto Racasa and Noel Glifonea.

Interestingly, the trio (Young, Bernardino and Suelo) are fresh from a top 3 finish in the just ended Road to Mastery FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament held on July 22 and 23 at the General Trias, Cavite Manpower Building Pasong Tamo Kayawan 2, South Square Village.

"We would like to thank Pangasinan 1st District Representative Jesus “Boying” Celeste for supporting the Ledda Farms, Bolinao Warriors chess team," said playing coach Atty. Rivera.

Others vying in the event which offers a top purse of P50,000 are PCWorx, Toastmasters, Nicolas-DeVega Law, Buenaviel Construction, Philippine Army, Philippine Airforce, UNESCO, Chester Concordia Team, King's Gambit Online Chess School, Sudeco/Pchem, Datamatics, Rotary Club, Red Cross, PCCI, Coach Abelgas Team and four Teams of NM Jojo Legaspi.

The second to fourth placers will receive P30,000, P20,000 and P10,000, respectively.

Each team composed of 5 regular boards/match. Maximum 5 alternates allowed. Only 3 titled players can field in the 5 regular boards.
The Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) was formed by lawyer Paul Elauria who also became the league's first commissioner while Michael Angelo Ong Chua was the chairman of the board.-Marlon Bernardino-
