
Blitz National Master (BNM) Joel Delfin to compete in AQ Prime Stream FIDE Standard Open Chess Tournament on July 1 and 2 at the Robinsons Metro East in Pasig City

MANILA---After a magnificent performance in the Tarrasch Knight Chess Club in Guadalupe, Makati City and was the tagged as the fastest man alive, Blitz National Master (BNM) Joel Delfin is set to compete in AQ Prime Stream FIDE Standard Open Chess Tournament.
The tournament, open to all players, is scheduled from July 1 to 2 and will be played at the Robinsons Metro East in Pasig City.
The event is backed up by AQ Prime Proprietor/President Atty. Aldwin Alegre under the auspices of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
"I hope to do well in this event (AQ Prime ) and gain some elo rating points," said the 32 years old Ascomo, Guagua, Pampanga native Delfin, a service associate employee of AI Express.
Delfin is is also set to compete in the Grandmaster Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr. Open Chess Tournament on September 30, 2023 at the second floor Open Kitchen Foodhall, Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan Street, Mandaluyong City.
Delfin is now on a rigid training with Fide Master Carlos Edgardo Garma, Benjie Bercadez and Richard Cornell Manzano.
"Y'ung strength nya ay Baka National Master," added Manzano, one of the famous chess blogger in the Philippines.
"Kaya nga nabansagan siyang Blitz National Master kasi mabilis talaga, accurate ang moves at magaling sobra," last word of Manzano.
The AQ Prime Stream FIDE Standard Open Chess Tournament has two divisions which offer P10,000 each for the champion.
The 2001 to 2399 FIDE Standard rating and 2000 and below.
Other entries are International Masters Jose Efren Bagamasbad, Angelo Abundo Young, Chito Garma, Ricardo de Guzman, Barlo Nadera, Ronald Bancod, Chris Ramayrat, WIM Marie Antoinette San Diego, Fide Masters Christian Mark Daluz, Noel dela Cruz, Adrian Ros Pacis, Christopher Castellano and Benjie Bercadez.-Marlon Bernardino-
