International Boxing Federation minimum weight champion Florante Condes who arrived in Manila after an excellent training stint at the famed ALA Gym of respected boxing patron Tony Aldeguer in Cebu said he is determined to win and retain his title against mandatory challenger Raul ?Rayito? Garcia on June 14 in La Paz, Mexico.

Condes who arrived with trainer Danny Bactol is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Vice President Noli de Castro this afternoon along with well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani who together with international matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz helped Condes get a purse of $50,000 for his first title defense. Condes? aunt Loy Valencia and her husband Larry will also accompany Condes.

Condes said ?my condition is good and I will fight hard for sure? even as he disclosed that his weight was around 109-110 pounds and posed no problems. In his last training session at the ALA Gym, Condes sparred with tough Along Denoy.

Trainer Bactol said Condes would wind down training at a fitness gym in Cainta and spar at the Tiger Gym in Mandaluyong. Bactol said Condes had so far sparred 58 rounds and he wants to concentrate on his conditioning.

Bactol said Condes was ?very strong" and he now wants to work on his ?flexibility and speed. ?

Garcia is undefeated with a record of 22-0-1 with 15 knockouts while Condes is 22-3-1 with 20 knockouts. Condes won the title from Indonesian champion Muhammad Rachman via a unanimous twelve round decision on July 7 last year while Garcia earned the mandatory title shot by defeating Colombia?s Ronald Barrera also by unanimous decision last December.
