
Racasa outwits Esperanza, shares lead

WOMAN NATIONAL MASTER Antonella Berthe "Tonelle" Racasa of Pasig City downed Simone Elise Esperanza of Marikina City Tuesday to gain a share of the lead in the third round of the National Capital Region (NCR) Palaro 2023 Secondary Girls chess team tournament at the Pinaglabanan Elementary School in San Juan City.
The victory was Racasa's third as she joined Precious Day Yecla of Manila City at the helm.
Yecla, on the other hand defeated Rhonalyn Litang of Mandaluyong City.
Racasa, playing under the banner of Hotel Sogo, earlier beat Eloisa Jade Alcantara of Pasig City in Round 1 and Jennah Mae Frias of Caloocan City in Round 2, respectively.
Yecla, meantime subdued Lexie Grace Hernandez of Manila City and Vienn Angela Borinaga of Pasay City.
Racasa next opponent is Ruelle Canino of Quezon City while Yecla opposite Francine Elaine Magpily of Makati City.-Marlon Bernardino-
