WNM Suyamin to represent Gentri in Regional meet chess tournament

WOMAN NATIONAL MASTER (WNM) Bonjoure Fille Suyamin pocketed the top honors in the High School Girls City Meet 2023 chess tournament held at the General Trias City Sports Park Intel Building on Sunday, February 26.
The 13-year-old Suyamin, a Grade 7 student of Del Rosario Christian Institute collected 4.5 points in five outings.
Suyamin, who got a bye in the first round scored victories over Stephanie Nicole Diaz of Governor Luis A. Ferrer Jr. East National High School in the second round, Sarah Zain Dulguime of Centennial Academy of the Blessed Trinity in the third round and Jirah Floravie Cutiyog of Bethel in the fourth round.
She split the points with Geraldine Mae Camarines of Gov. Ferrer Memorial Integrated National High School in the fifth and final round.
With the win, WNM Suyamin will advance in the regional (Southern Tagalog Calabarzon Athletic Association) chess tournament.
The winner here will represent the region in the Palarong Pambansa.
“I’m very happy and very grateful for winning this High School Girls City Meet 2023 chess tournament because we’re going into the regional (Southern Tagalog Calabarzon Athletic Association) chess tournament," said Suyamin.
Suyamin's next assignment is the National Age Group Elimination to be held on March 3-5 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay City.
Suyamin is also scheduled to compete in the 2023 Balinas Open Rapid Chess Tournament on March 18 at the second floor Open Kitchen Foodhall, Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan Street, Mandaluyong City.
