Gentri woodpushers will try to give Metro Manila bets and other nearby provinces a stiff contest

GENERAL TRIAS CITY (Gentri) woodpushers will try to give Metro Manila bets and other nearby provinces a stiff contest when the National Age Group Chess Championships Elimination round from ages 10 years old and under, 12 years old and under, 14 years old and under, 16 years old and under and finally, the division for 18 years old and under gets underway on March 3-5, 2023 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay City.
Wherein, top 8 places in each division will advance to the Grand-finals. Consequently, the Champions will officially represent the Philippines in the ASEAN Age Group Chess Championships in Bangkok, Thailand from June 17-27, 2023 according to National Chess Federation of the Philippines Chief Executive Officer FST/GM Jayson Gonzales.
It is the office of the Vice Governor Hon. Athena Brayana D. Tolentino that will host and sponsor this prestigious National event upon the supplication of NCFP Chairman/ President Hon. Prospero A. Pichay Jr., similarly, the exponent of chess development in all far flung places of the countryside, who believes and embraces that the era of the youth has come and time for harvest.
“Vice Governor Tolentino is the youngest and the first female vice governor of the Province of Cavite. Her advocacy for good governance, holistic human well-being, development, social equality, and inclusivity, among others, signify this leader’s genuine desire to serve the people, the community, and the country," added GM Gonzales.
General Trias City Chess Club president coach Ederwin Estavillo will field Bonjoure Fille Suyamin, Geraldine Mae Camarines, Jirah Floravie Cutiyog and Jireh Dan Jaime Cutiyog , Noreen Sciecky Atienza, Relghie Columna, John Martin Firmalino, Ramundo Bonoan III and Clark Jemuel Cabatian, among others for the General Trias City woodpushers backed up by mayor Jonjon Ferrer, Sports Head Rodolfo Commandante Jr. and Jose Padu delos Santos of Papadu Sportswear.
"I hope to perform well in this event," said the 13-year-old Suyamin, a Grade 7 student of Del Rosario Christian Institute.-Marlon Bernardino-
