
4th National Executive Chess Championship on February 4

MANILA---COUNTRY'S up and coming chess players will test each other's mettle in the fourth leg of the National Executive Chess Championship-North Luzon Leg, which reels off on February 4 at the Activity Center, Marquee Mall in Angeles City, Pampanga.
At stake in the one-day, over-the-board competition organized by the Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) and sponsored by United States chess master Dr. Rex De Asis of Lacey, Washington are cash prizes and trophies to the top finishers.
PECA president Dr. Fred Paez said the champion will bring home the lion’s share of P10,000 and trophy.
The runner-up and the third placer will receive P5,000 and trophy and P3,000 and trophy, respectively.
The fourth and fifth placers will get P2,000 and P1,000 and medals, respectively.
Cash prizes of P1,000 and medals will also be given to the top senior (60 years old and above), top lady, top 1900 and below, top 1800 and below and top unrated.
Meanwhile, P3,000 and trophy are up for grabs in the Kiddies division 12 years old and below.
Registration is P700 (Executive) and P200 (Kiddies).
