International Boxing Organization (IBO) world flyweight champion Dave “Dobermann” Apolinario will engage in a tune-up fight on February 11, 2023 in General Santos City. It will be a non-title bout against journeyman Frengky Rohi of Indonesia.

The southpaw champ Apolinario, age 23, of Maasim, Sarangani, became a world champion by a short workout of South African Gideon Buthelezi by KO1 on July 29, 2022 at International Convention Centre, East London, South Africa for the vacant IBO flyweight title. He has 17 wins, with 12 KOs, and no defeat and no draw.

Apolinario, one of Sanman Boxing Gym’s stalwarts, is ranked No. 3 WBA, No. 6 IBF, No. 12 WBC and No. 15 WBO. His promoter JC Manangquil of Sanman Boxing Promotions, and his manager Mike Pelayo want to see their boxer wearing a more prestigious belt from the four major governing bodies.

Frengky Rohi, age 28, of Kupang, Indonesia has a record of eight wins, 12 losses, one draw with three knockout victories. Rohi won his latest fight against fellow Indonesian Silem Serang by majority decision in the capital city of Jakarta on December 14, 2021.

Rohi will fight in the Philippines for the second time. His first bout here was when he lost by third round knock out to Kevin Jake Cataraja of Tabuelan, Cebu in his hometown on June 16, 2018.

The undefeated world-ranked contender KJ Cataraja will also fight Edward Heno for the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super flyweight title in the main event of the same boxing card.
