PH athletes bring home 3 medals in various Muay competitions

MANILA---Three Filipino Muay athletes continue to shine in Muay competitions in the international scene.

Last December 7 to 11, 2022, the three athletes took the Asean stage and bagged three medals from the recently concluded Southeast Asian Muay Championships 2022 held in SinahoukVille, Cambodia.

The championship tournament is part of Cambodia's preparation in hosting next year's SeaGames thus dubbed it the pre SEAgames Kun Khmer Championships 2022 and was attended by South East Asian countries notably Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and more.

Archie Brioso bagged the silver medal after fighting a towering Cambodian superstar and One championships fighter Lao Chetra.
His younger brother Arnie Brioso, settled for the bronze medal after fighting Malaysia's top bet.

Gerald Bassig is the team's national representative and also a fighting coach who managed to bag the bronze medal after fighting a lethweight Myanmar superstar Saw be hein at the 60kgs division.
The Southeast Asia Muay Championships 2022 was held beachside of SinahoukVille, Cambodia showcasing the country natural coastline beauty.-Marlon Bernardino-
