Warriors cap home stand on a high note, finish ‘All That Jazz’, 129-118

Chase Center, California -

The Warriors were shaking and baking tonight, as they defeated the visiting Jazz team led by Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson, 129-118.

Steph Curry’s 33-point concoction did not go for naught, as the Warriors sous chefs gave him all the help he needed to secure the win.

The home team went to work early in the first quarter as Wiggins drained a trey followed by a Curry deuce capped by a Draymond bucket, all three dishing to each other.

The Jazz sensing an early shootout tied it up quickly, only to be untied by a nifty 3-pointer from Curry to make it 10-7 Warriors. The short outburst was the preview of the offensive deluge by the Warriors who led by as much as 17 points. But at the half, the Warriors lead was trimmed by ten points, 59-51.

The gritty Fil-American Jordan Clarkson led Utah’s charge as they slowly capitalized and converted 21 Warriors turnovers into points. They briefly took the lead by a point, 70-71 at 07:26 of the third quarter, only to be later outgunned by the Warriors offensive juggernaut.

All the Warriors shooters were occasionally seen simultaneously on the floor— a look that they had practiced and envisioned back in training camp.

A good offense, as boxing experts like hall-of-famer Freddie Roach and trusted co-trainer Marvin Somodio would say, is the best defense.

It was the look and rotation Coach Steve Kerr had in store for the Jazz tonight— a stern warning to the league (and their respective defensive units) that the defending NBA champions are hitting their stride.

The Warriors sharpshooters Curry, Thompson, Wiggins and Poole combined for 90 points total with 50 points in the final 19:34 minutes of the game.

Even the defensive Draymond Green and Kevon Looney got into the offensive act with 23 points. Green has been omnipresent with the second squad providing much needed guidance to hot-and-cold Jordan Poole who scored 19 points (4 rebounds, 6 assists).

"Those are always going to be our main scorers, just the way we play," Kerr was quoted by NBA.com.

"Draymond and Loon are going to be setting a ton of screens and distributing the ball, so we need a scoring punch that comes from that group.

Of interest, the Splash Brothers shone once again, as Curry and Thompson scored 3 three-pointers within 44 seconds putting the Warriors up 116-110 putting the game out of reach in the 4th quarter with 06:44 left on the clock.

The Warriors have won 4 of their 5 games and looked more in sync tonight as they garnered their not-so-pretty 10-10 record, 9-1 at home and 1-9 on the road.

As a team, shot 51.5% FG and 44.4% 3-PT.

As a team, the Utah Jazz shot 47.4% FG and a paltry 24.4% 3-PT.

Jazz leaders Lauri Markkanen scored 24 points while Jordan Clarkson and Kelly Olynyk each had 21 points for Utah. Thus far, the Jazz have lost three straight to match their longest slide this season.
