World Boxing Council lightweight champion David Diaz says June 28 ?will be the sinking of Manny (Pacquiao), the reigning WBC super featherweight champion who has a record of 46-3-2, 34 KO?s).

Diaz (34-1-1, 17 KO?s) made the bold prediction in a press conference in San Antonio, Texas, the first stop on a promotional tour designed to hype his ?Lethal Combination? showdown with the Filipino ring icon despite the absence of Pacquiao who is scheduled to leave for Los Angeles on Saturday.

After a visit to the Alamo, the birthplace of Texas independence from Mexico, Diaz who is an American whose family hails from Mexico vowed that Pacquiao?s drive for five world titles ?will stall out? when they clash at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

MaxBoxing quoted Diaz as saying ?I didn?t work this hard to win the title just to become another notch on Pacquiao?s belt. The Mexicutioner is about to become the Mexicutionee.?

In his widely read column in Abante which was carried by philboxing.com, Pacquiao said ?I am pushing myself to another level because I want to achieve greater heights. I know there is nothing impossible when you believe in God and you give your best in training for a fight. I know I can step it up and challenge the bigger guy Diaz and I am very much excited to get back in the gym in Los Angeles with my trainer Freddie Roach in the second week of May.?

Diaz, in his column in the Chicago Sun Times said the San Antonio press conference went great. Seems like the media everywhere are being very supportive of the fight.? Diaz noted that Pacquiao beat Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera and comparatively unknown but undefeated Jorge Solis in San Antonio and ?the folks there are very familiar with him.?

Diaz said he also did a ?meet and greet? at the local Time Warner headquarters where he met hundreds of phone operators who will take the calls for the pay-per-view. He said ?I signed a lot of autographs, took a lot of pictures and got a lot of good wishes for my fight.?

Diaz arrived in Phoenix, Arizona from San Antonio late at night but said he was ?up early to get another workout (Hey Manny), then its another press conference, another meet and greet at the cable company and more press stuff at the D?Backs baseball game tonight.?

Diaz said he returns to Chicago early afternoon on Friday (Manila Time) which will allow him ?to get a full training session in and back on schedule.?
