1st Congressman Alan "ALDU" R. Dujali Open Individual and Team Chess Championships is slated on October 29 and 30

MANILA---The 1st Congressman Alan "ALDU" R. Dujali Open Individual and Team Chess Championships is slated on October 29 and 30 at the Maria Clara Resort, Barangay San Pedro, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

It is a seven round Swiss system with 25 minutes plus 5 seconds increment time control format. The 2-day event is supported by Rep. Alan "ALDU" R. Dujali.

Grandmaster Darwin Laylo, National Master Henry Roger Lopez, National Master Christian Gian Karlo Arca, National Master Cedric Magno, National Master Aglipay Oberio and National Master Macacuna Macala head the list of participants in the individual open category.

The individual open champion will earn P15,000 plus a trophy. The second placer will get P10,000, third P5,000, fourth P4,000 and fifth P3,000.

Sixth to Eleventh placers will receive P2,000, P1,000, P900, P800, P700 and P600, respectively.

“Each team composed of three players must only have an average rating of 2045,” said National Arbiter Darwin A. Bermudez.
“Teams expected to see action are coming from Pagadian, Misamis Oriental, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Davao del Norte, Digos and Davao City,” said Bermudez.

The team champion will bring home P100,000 plus a trophy. The second placer will receive P60,000, third P40,000, fourth P30,000 and fifth P20,000.

Sixth to Eleventh placers will get P15,000, P10,000, P9,000, P8,000, P7,000 and P6,000, in order.
