
Sali, Fernandez faces tough competition in National Executive rapid chess

Sardinia, Italy--National Master Zulfikar A. Sali and National Master Dandel Fernandez expect rough sailing in the 2022 National Executive Chess Championship -South Luzon leg, which reels off on Sunday at the Vista Mall, Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa Road, Brgy. Don Jose in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
"I hope to perform well in this prestigious chess tournament," said NM Sali, Senior Emergency Nurse at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC, Canada and Proprietor & CEO of Sahaya Dermatology Clinic.
“It will be a very tough match against my fellow executive players. But I will do my very best," said Fernandez, -Admission and Discharge Officer at the Saudi German Hospital Health Group -in United Arab Emirates and Owner of Dtravel Queen Travel and Tours.

The tournament offers P12,000 plus trophy to the executive champion, P8,000 plus trophy to the runner-up, P5,000 plus trophy to the third-placer, P3,000 plus medal to the fourth placer and P2,000 plus medal for the fifth-placer. Category winners in the Top 1900 and below, Top 1800 and below, Top Unrated, Top Lady and Top Senior, 60 years old and above will earn P2,000 each.
Meanwhile, the top five winners in the Youth Division Champion will get P5,000, P3,000, P2,000, P1,000 and P700, respectively.
Category winners in the Top Lady, Top Under 12 (Boys), Top Under 12 (Girls), Top Under 0 (Boys), Top Under 10 (Girls), Top Under 8 (Boys) and Top Under 8 (Girls) will bring home P700 each.
The event is FIDE-rated and sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
Registration fee: Executive Division (P1,000 before October 15) and (P1,200 on-site).
Youth Division (P300 before October 15) and (P400 on-site).
