IM Angelo Abundo Young claims 4th straight victim; ready for World Senior Chess Championships in Assisi, Italy

SARDINIA, ITALY---International Master Angelo Abundo Young claimed his fourth straight victim in Fide Master Mari Joseph Turqueza of Muntinlupa City Team B in Round 4 on Thursday, October 13 to spearheaded General Trias City, Cavite into a tie for 6th place in the 1st Masskara Festival National Inter-Provinces, Cities and Municipalities Chess Team Championships at the Forest Park Resort in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Other victims of Young are Ellan Asuela of General Santos City-MPCL, Ramil Canete of Kabasalan and Woman Grandmaster Janelle Mae Frayna of Madrid, Surigao Del Sur - Phil Womens Team.

The Mayor Jon-Jon Ferrer backed up General Trias City chess team yielded to General Santos City-MPCL (1-3) in the first round, but beat Kabasalan (4-0) in the second round, Madrid, Surigao Del Sur - Phil Womens Team (3-1) in the third round and split the points with Muntinlupa City Team B (2-2) in the fourth round.
The General Trias City chess team will slug it out with Victorias City in the fifth round.

Other members of General Trias City chess team are Lloyd Rubio, Renie Malupa, Israel Landicho, Ederwin Estavillo, Paolo Estavillo, Glycel Afortunado and Delegation Head Mr. Rodolfo Commandante Jr.

The top board player of General Trias City chess team is Filipino and United States chess master Almario Marlon Quiroz Bernardino Jr. who is now in Sardinia, Italy accompanying Fide Master Alekhine Fabiosa Nouri who is currently competing in the World Junior Chess Championship Under 20 Open division.

Meanwhile, Young is looking to surpass his 8th overall finish during the 2019 edition in Bucharest, Romania when this year's World Senior Chess Championships gets going on November 14-27 in Assisi, Italy.-Marlon Bernardino-
