
Rivera, Carredo among the favorites in the GM Rosendo Balinas kiddies chess tournament

MANILA---Jian Carlo Rivera and Mar Aviel Carredo are among the favorites in the 81st Birthday Grandmaster and Atty. Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr. kiddies chess tournament on Sept. 10, 2022, Saturday, 9 am at the second floor Open Kitchen foodhall, Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan Street, Mandaluyong City, infront of UNILAB.
Rivera, the pride of Rodriguez, Rizal is the top seed in this rapid event who hold an Elo rapid rating of 1781.
Carredo, for his part, top bet of Quezon City is the second seed with an Elo rapid rating of 1719.
Third seed Jerick Faeldonia of Manila who possessed an Elo rapid rating of 1707 also set to fight for his place in this P50,000 total pot prize tournament, hosted by US based frontliner Dr. Joe Balinas and Engr. Antonio “Uncle Paps” Balinas, both founding honorary chairman of the organizing Bayanihan Chess Club in close cooperation with Ms. China Aurelio and Ms. Mimi Casas of Open Kitchen.
Also playing in the National Chess Federation of the Philippines sanctioned tournament which offers P10,000 to the champion are fourth seed Jude Angelo Dableo (elo 1615) of Manila, fifth seed National Master Ivan Travis Cu (elo 1510) of San Juan City, sixth seed National Master Al-Basher "Basty" Buto (elo 1399) of Cainta, Rizal, seventh Gabriel Ryan Paradero (elo 1338) of Pasig City, eight seed Bonjoure Fille Suyamin (elo 1337) of General Trias City, Cavite, ninth seed Vincent Ryu Dimayuga (elo 1308) of Lipa City, Batangas and tenth seed Gladimir Chester Romero (1279) of Tanauan City, Batangas.
Others are National Master Christian Gian Karlo Arca of Dasmarinas City, Cavite, Cyrus Luis Mahawan of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, Marguel Soria Jr.of Pasig City and Davin Sean and Danry Seth Romualdez of Cainta, Rizal.
