New lightweight sensation Ryan "Bull Crasher" Racaza extended his streak to 13 wins, including his ninth knockout victory as he led two other undefeated stable-mates in winning their bouts in the inaugural boxing promotional of the JMS Anchor Promotions dubbed Angklahan sa Dasmarinas I in Dasmarinas City last Sunday, August 28, 2022.
In the scheduled 8 round main event set at super lightweight, the 25 year old find and top protege out of Cebu of promoter Joel Paciones of JMS Anchor Promotions had to break through a determined fighting stand of veteran internationalist Jimmy Borbon to eventually pound out two knockdowns on the way to a fifth round technical knockout victory, his third straight and ninth overall in 13 fights, all victories.
Borbon to his credit showed flashes of his old form that made him competitive in fights versus more prominent foes as then world super featherweight champion Takeshi Miura and with his slight height advantage initially proved a hard nut to crack for the younger Racaza in the first two rounds
But Racaza persisted with his two-fisted assault that started to assert his power in the next three rounds and he proceeded to score two hard knockdowns, the last convincing the referee to stop the fight and save Borbon from further punishments and possible more serious physical damages.
With the win, the heavy handed Racaza is expected to rise further in the GAB national rankings where he is currently rated #4. According to Paciones, a couple more fights and wins and Racaza would be ready to challenge for the Philippine championship.
In the co-main event that lend international flavor to the fisticuffs, Malaysian visitor Aiman Abu Bakar upped his record to 10-1 including 5 by KOs as he scored a 6th round technical knockout win against another guest boxer JR Magboo of Mindoro in a scheduled 8 round super featherweight scrap. Magboo suffered his career seventh loss as against 18 wins and 2 draws with 9 KOs.
In the supporting bouts, Racaza's stablemates at JMS Anchor Promotions namely Roger Dogelio and Jerson Arigola likewise improved to 3-0 each with both winning also via the short route. Dogelio took the measure of Nestor Junio of Camp Sales at super featherweight while Arigola whipped the luckless Junjun Rimasog of Muntinlupa City.at bantamweight.
The boxing cards were backstopped by a series of amateur boxing and mixed martial arts bouts that whet the appetite of some 300 spectators that crowded the JMS Boxing-Biagtan Muay Thai Boxing Gym, Raquettaz Badminton Center, Don Placido Campos, San Agustin 2 Dasmarinas City, Cavite Philippines. It was open free to the public though AITF pandemic protocols were strictly enforced.
The JMS Anchor Promotions is the latest to join the local professional boxing circuit with Paciones as lead licensed promoter and former youngest Filipino world boxing champion and now US based boxing manager-trainer Morris East and his lawyer-cousin Atty Steve Santillan as partners.
