
Inigo leads woodpushers in MP chess meet

MANILA---Michael Jan Stephen Rosalem Inigo will lead woodpushers in the Sen. Manny Pacquiao Tuna Festival Chess Team Tournament, which will kick off September 2 at the Robinsons Place in General Santos City.
The team champion will earn P200,000 plus a trophy and medals according to United States chess master Rodolfo "Jun" Panopio Jr. in the event supported by Sen. Manny Pacquiao in coordination with Extreme Gaming and Luminuex Glutathione Capsule and sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
The Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental based Inigo will be joined by 13 time Philippine Open Champion Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. and Drigo Teves representing Balinas Chess Team.
"Gagawin po namin ang best," said Inigo.
The Bayawan City, Negros Oriental native Inigo is supported by Bayanihan Chess Club co-founding chairman Dr. Jose "Joe" Carreon Balinas and Engr. Antonio "Tony" Carreon Balinas and GM Balinas Family.
Inigo has scored perfect 7.0 points to win the 2022 Tanjay City Fiesta Chess Tournament in the under 16 category tournament held at the Osmena Park, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental last July 10, 2022.-Marlon Bernardino-
