Quizon to defend title in Kamatyas chess rapid tiff

MANILA---International Master Daniel Quizon will defend his title in the Kamatyas Fide Rated Invitational Rapid Tournament 4th Edition at the SM Sucat Building B in Paranaque City on Saturday (August 20, 2022).

Grandmaster Darwin Laylo and International Master Ronald Dableo are seeing action along with International Masters Michael Concio Jr., Chito Garma and Cris Ramayrat, Fide Masters Alekhine Nouri, Roel Abelgas, Randy Segarra, Nelson "Elo" Mariano III and Jerth Romy Morado, and National Masters David Elorta, Carlo Magno Rosaupan, Noel dela Cruz and Eduardo Estrella in this event organized by International Master Roderick Nava of Kamatyas Chess Club, sponsored by sportsman and businessman David Almirol Jr. of Multysis Technologies Corporations.

" I hope to perform well in tihis event," said International Master Daniel Quizon, who will be gunning his fourth Kamatyas chess title.

The 15 minutes plus 5 seconds increment time control format will offer P30,000, P10,000, P7,000, P5,000 for the first, second third and fourth placers while the fifth to 10th placers will receive P2,000 each in this National Chess Federation of the Philippines sanctioned tournament, supervised by the Philippine Arbiters Chess Confederation (PACC) headed by International Arbiter Reden Cruz and National Arbiter Byron Gabrentina Villar.-Marlon Bernardino-
