NM Arca to banner GM Balinas Rapid kiddies event

MANILA---National Master Christian Gian Karlo Tade-Arca will spearhead a strong cast clashing in the Grandmaster Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr. 81st Birthday Chess Cup Kiddies Event 14 Years Old Below Rapid Chess Championship set September 10, 2022, Saturday, 8am at the Second Floor, Open Kitchen Foodhall, Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan Street, Mandaluyong City.
The 13-year-old Arca looms as the player to beat in the seven-round Swiss system tournament owing to his impressive performance in the past.

"I hope to do well in this prestigious event," said Arca, who won the Mayor APSU Cup kiddies 14 under chess tournament held at the Mantangale Alibuag Dive Resort, Balingoan, Misamis, Oriental last May 26, 2022.

Arca is the new member of the star studded Dasmarinas Chess Academy under the guidance of Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. and National Coach Fide Master Roel Abelgas.

The event, sponsored by Bayanihan Chess Club co-founding Chairman Dr. Joe Balinas, Engr. Antonio Balinas and GM Balinas Family in close cooperation with Ms. China Aurelio and Ms. Mimi Casas of Open Kitchen Foodhall and sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines, at stakes a total pot prizes worth P50,000.

The 10 minutes time control format will offer P10,000, P7,000, P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000 for the first, second, third, fourth and fifth placers. The sixth to 15th placers will receive P1,000 each while the top performers for the 12 years old and below Boys and Girls, 10 years old and below for Boys and Girls, 8 years old and below for Boys and Girls and 6 years old and below for Boys and Girls will earn P1,000 each. All winners will also bring home medals.
