Tiburcio rules Singapore rapid chess championship

MANILA---Jayson Jacobo Tiburcio of the Philippines ruled via tiebreak the Holiday Rapid I for the June 2022 edition chess championship at the Peace Centre in Singapore on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Tiburcio, tied for first-second places with compatriot Fide Master David Elorta 6.5 points apiece in the 20 minutes time control event organized by International Organizer/ International Arbiter Ignatius Leong. With the highest tiebreak points, Tiburcio took the title while Elorta finished second.

Rounding up the top 10 were Anthony Chow of Malaysia (3rd), Fang Tianyang of China (4th), Vedant Nayudu of India (5th), Sim En Rui Audelle of Singapore (6th), Chang Cheng Hwee of Singapore (7th), Karthikeyan Abhinav of the United States (8th), Lim Fang Yhi of Malaysia (9th), Arena Fide Master Goswami Dhruv of Singapore (10th).-Marlon Bernardino-
