
Antonio, Laylo banner tough field in WFM Lomibao-Beltran Cup

MANILA---THE who’s who in Philippine chess, led by 13-time Philippine Open Champion Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. and Grandmaster Darwin Laylo have confirmed their participation in the Woman Fide Master Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran Rapid Open Chess Championship to be held on July 10, 2022, Sunday, 9 am at the Open Kitchen, Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan Street in Mandaluyong City.
Also expected to see action in the prestigious event which offers a total prize worth P110,000 are International Master Jan Emmanuel Garcia, International Master Michael Concio Jr., International Master Daniel Quizon, International Master Chito Garma, International Master Angelo Abundo Young, International Master Ricardo de Guzman, International Master Barlo Nadera, International Master Chris Edgardo Ramayrat Jr. and Woman International Master Kylene Joy Mordido.
They will be joined by Fide Master Nelson "Elo" Mariano III, Fide Master Robert Suelo Jr., Fide Master Christopher Castellano, Fide Master Jose Efren Bagamasbad, Fide Master Sander Severino, Fide Master Adrian Ros Pacis, Fide Master Roel Abelgas, Fide Master David Elorta and Woman Fide Master Allaney Jia Doroy.
The champion will take home P10,000 plus IPHONE SE (Apple) mobile phone, while the second to fifth will receive P7,000, P5,000 P3,000 and P2,000 respectively.Sixth to Tenth will each earn P1,000 while 11th to 20th will bring home P500 each.
P1,000 plus Fossil Watches will be given to the top category winners such as Top Lady, Top Media, Top PWD Top Kiddy (14 years old and below, Top Junior (16 years old and below), Top Senior (50 and above), Top Non Master and Top Executive while Tablets awaits for the 8 Years old and below boys and girls winners.
A competition held by Bayanihan Chess Club, sponsored by Woman Fide Master Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran in close cooperation with Ms. China Aurelio and Ms. Mimi Casas of Open Kitchen Food Hall sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).-Marlon Bernardino-
