
NM Buto to banner Cainta Open rapid chess

MANILA---National Master Al-Basher Buto will spearhead a strong cast clashing in the Cainta Open rapid chess championship (Over The Board) set May 29, 2022, Sunday, 11 am at the Goldland Chess Club, Village East, Beaver Street, Goldland Subdivision, Cainta, Rizal.
The 12-year-old Buto, a grade seven pupil of Faith Christian School in Cainta, Rizal, looms as the player to beat in the seven-round Swiss system owing to his impressive performance in online chess tournaments.
The event, hosted by Goldland Chess Club, offers a top purse of P3,000.
"Open to all chess players (titled or untitled) who are in good standing with NCFP," said Mr. Bong Buto, president of Goldland Chess Club.
Other woodpushers in the event, sponsored by mayor Atty. Johnielle Keith "Kit" Nieto, friends of mayor elect Atty. Ellen Nieto and Athletic head Pjong dela Paz, are NM Jasper Faeldonia, Jason Rojo, Walt Allen Talan, Davin Romualdez, Jerick Faeldonia, Mar Aviel Carredo, Rohanisah Buto, Danry Romualdez, Anthony Pebenito, Noel Glifonea and Akan Stephen Tagul.
