Biado, Alcano, Chua enter Sweet 16

MANILA---Carlo "The Black" Tiger" Biado, Ronato "Volcano" Alcano and Johann "Bubwit" Chua won one match each on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 to secure berths in the Round of 16 of the National 10-Ball Tournament at the Robinson's Mall in Naga City.

The Rosario, La Union native Biado toppled Kyle Amoroto of Cebu City, 9-3; the Calamba City, Laguna bet Alcano downed Alvin Daquioag of Quezon City, 9-5; while the Taguig City resident Chua subdued Michael Baoanan of Manila, 9-5, to remain unbeaten.
They hope to continue their form as they face separate rivals on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

“I was a bit lucky because my touch didn’t fail me until the last shot,” said Biado, the 2017 world 9-Ball titlist.

The other cue masters who advanced to the Last 16 via the winners brackets were James "Dodong Diamond" Aranas of Bacoor City, Cavite, Anthony "Anton" Raga of Talisay City, Cebu, Rodrigo "Edgie" Geronimo of Marilao, Bulacan, Raymart Camomot of Manila and Jerico Bonus of Naga City.

Aranas beat Raymund Faraon of Sipocot, Camarines Sur , 9-3, Raga dismantled Marvin Pastor of Imus City, Cavite, 9-4, Geronimo waylaid Toni Regino of Iriga City, 9-6, Camomot nipped Rex Lawrence of Naga City, 9-3, while Bonus edged Mark Estiola of Manila, 9-6.

Tournament Director Darwin Bernadaz said other players can make it to the Round of 16 via loser's brackets.

Tournament Promoter is Joevie Gonzales while Tournament organizer are Ronald Cayetano, Kristian Agawa and Raymund Faraon.-Marlon Bernardino-
