Biado, Faraon off to good start in National 10-Ball tor in Naga City

MANILA---Carlo "The Black Tiger" Biado and Raymund "The Pharaoh" Faraon got off to a blazing start by posting back to back victories in the second round of the National 10-Ball Tournament on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Robinson's Mall in Naga City.

The 38-year-old Rosario La Union native Biado looms as the player to beat owing to his magnificent performance this year winning numerous tournaments in the United States, defeated Ronald Cayetano of Naga City (9-6) and Arvi Tanega of Tacloban City (9-4) while Faraon, the pride of Sipocot, Camarines Sur got bye in the first round then bested Bernie Regalario of Paranaque City (9-8) in the second round.

“The first two rounds are one of the toughest rounds in any tournament. It usually sets the tone of how you’re going to perform,” said Biado, the 2017 Doha, Qatar WPA World Nine-ball Champion.

"We hope to perform well in this event," Faraon said for his part.

James "Dodong Diamond" Aranas of Bacoor City, Cavite, Kyle Amoroto of Cebu City and Reymart Camomot of Manila also opened with back to back wins.

Aranas trounced Alexis Ferrer of Paniqui, Tarlac (9-0) and Ryan Mark Hidalgo of Lucena City (9-4) , Amoroto who got bye in the first round then crushed Reyner Espejo of Manila (9-7) while Camomot smashed Akiro Amaro of Japan (9-2) and Amiel Leonor of Manila (9-8).

Other opening day winners are Double World Champion Ronato "Volcano" Alcano of Calamba City, Laguna, Johann Chua of Taguig City, Anthony "Anton" Raga of Talisay City, Cebu and Rodrigo Geronimo of Marilao, Bulacan.

Tournament Director is Ronald Cayetano while Tournament organizer are Raymund Faraon, Jovie Gonzales and Darwin Bernadaz.-Marlon Bernardino-
