
Magallanes siblings to headline Dipolog chess tilt

MANILA---Some of the country’s young players led by highly-touted Magallanes siblings, Ranzeth Marco and Princess Rane, are coming back to compete in the 5th mayor Darel Dexter T. Uy P'gsalabuk Chess Cup to be held on May 14 and 15, 2022 at the Ground Floor, Museo Dipolog in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
8-year-old Ranzeth Marco and 6-year-old Princess Rane will be seeing in action in the Open category on May 14 then followed by the Age Group chess competition on May 15 according to National Arbiter and Dipolog City Chess Association President Ronald Truno Solon.
The Magallanes siblings scored a career breakthrough when they performed well during the 2019 Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ranzeth Marco won bronze in the team event of the blitz category while her younger sister Princess Rane took two silvers (standard and blitz category in team event) and 1 bronze in team event of the rapid category.
Right now, Ranzeth Marco and Princess Rane are under rigid training courtesy under their father/trainor Ranell Magallanes II and mother/coach Sendelyn Magallanes and Principal lyn A. Carpio of Estaka Central School as well the famous AFPI PACE Master Class.-Marlon Bernardino-
