Chess tourney set in Zamboanga

MANILA---NM Zulfikar Aliakbar Sali 2022 Inter-Cities & Municipalities Chess Team Championship is slated on May 21-22, 2022 in Zamboanga City.

“Each team composed of three players with a maximum NCFP average rating 2100," said tournament organizer National Master Zulfikar Aliakbar Sali.

It will be an eleven round Swiss system format applying 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment.

The team champion will earn P50,000. The second placer will get P30,000, third P20,000, fourth P15,000 and fifth P10,000. Sixth to 10th placers will receive P9,000, P8,000, P7,000, P6,000 and P5,000, respectively.

Tournament registration fee is P2,000.

“Teams expected to see action are coming all over the Philippines such as Metro Manila, Cebu, Iloilo, Negros, Pagadian, Misamis Oriental, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Davao del Norte, Digos, Davao City, Dipolog and Zamboanga City,” said Sali.

The event is supported by Zamboanga Sultans and friends of Anak Mindanao Party list nominee Rep. Amihilda Sangcopan, in coordination with the Gren Energy Power and Mind Movers.Ph Chess Club.
