Chessmis, Surigao, Davao ready for war for Mayor Sara Duterte Chess Online tournament

MANILA---22 teams participating headed by Chessmis TV Chess Team, Surigao Diamond Knights and new comer Davao Durianburg are ready for mind-boggling game when the Mayor Sara Duterte Chess Online tournament Philippine Chess League (PCL) Season 3 gets underway on April 8, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. via the lichess platform.

The Chessmis TV Chess Team under the guidance of Engr. Billy Joe Ereno and Engr. Jeson Bolando supercharged their team with the addition of Sherwin Tiu to join Anatoly Pascua, AGM Julius Ablin, Jayson Salubre, coach Nazario Ubanan, team captain Junmark Baldesimo, Jimmy Dano, Apollo Agapay, team manager John Percival Chua among others.

Surigao reinforced their line up with former UAAP stars Kevin Mirano, Adrian Perez and Alexis Mirabao with 3 strong lawyers in their line up headed by team coach, Atty Cliburn Anthony Orbe, commissioner Atty. Melzar Galicia and Atty. Jason Bandal with Dr Wil Maghanoy of Iligan leading the second group along with team owner AGM Rey C. Urbiztondo and original stalwarts Lennon Hart Salgados and Alfred Rapanot and Lady PCL MVP last season, Mariel Batulan Romero.

Davao, headed by Atty. Jong Guevarra is parading the strongest non masters in the Davao Region including PCAP players spearheaded by Ariel Aton and Anthony Mosqueda.

The two are among 5 teams from Mindanao (Surigao, Davao, Zamboanga, Malaybalay and Dipolog). Urbiztondo facilitated the entry of Davao team with his new appointment as VP External of PCL.-Marlon Bernardino-
