
Pascua rules GMG Chess Monthly Tour Arena online tournament

MANILA---ANATOLY PASCUA ruled via tiebreak the GMG Chess Monthly Tour Arena online tournament virtually held at Lichess Platform.
Pascua, tied for first-second places with Sherwin Tiu 43 points apiece in the 3 minutes time control event organized by Thailand based National Master Gerald Ferriol.
With the highest tiebreak points, Pascua took the title while Tiu finished second.
It shall be recalled that Pascua spearheaded Chessmis TV Chess Team into strong second place finish in the Philippine Chess League (PCL) Season 2 online chess tournament.
The online tournament had time control of three minutes and players must win as many games in one and half hours of play according to National Master Gerald Ferriol, a former mainstay of University of Santo Tomas Chess Team.
Rounding up the top 10 were third Ariel Santander (42 points), fourth Tristan Cervero (42 points), fifth Christian Mendoza (39 points), sixth Rowel Roque (38 points), seventh Vladimir Gonzales (36 points), eight National Master Fritz Bryan Porras (36 points), ninth Francis Talaboc (33 points) and tenth Apollo Agapay (32 points).-Marlon Bernardino-
