Costbusters Philippines Corp. Chess Team win chess championship at PCL Season 2

MANILA---THE Costbusters Philippines Corp. Chess Team emerged as the overall champion at the recently-concluded Philippine Chess League (PCL) Season 2 online tournament virtually held at Lichess Platform last Sunday, March 20.

Led by Engineer Bren Sasot and Freddie Talaboc, they bested tough opponents from different teams in the Philippines and came out victorious of the chess tilt.

Joining Talaboc and Sasot were playing team manager Jezreel Lopez, Jones Maghuyop, Francis Talaboc, Adrian Esteva, Fern Albert Falle, Nezil Arj Merilles, Abdelmunim Hassan, Vladimir Gonzales, Roumundo Edades Jr., Ervil Villa, Kevin Arquero, Carl Zirex Sato, Richie Jocson, Yosef Immanuel Morada, Keith Adriane Ilar, Ericka and Kate Ordizo.

"The rigid trainings, hard work and perseverance of Costbusters Philippines Corp. Chess Team paved the way to success. The team bagged first place in the just ended Philippine Chess League (PCL) Season 2 online tournament Sunday night, March 20 virtually held at Lichess Platform," said Team Owner Billy Joe Ereno.
Last year's winner Chessmis TV Chess Team, San Miguel Chess Association and Surigao Diamond Portrait Knight Chess Team came in second, third, and fourth, respectively.

Tournament Director Engineer Joel Anthony Hicap said that the PCL Season 3 gets underway on April 8 dubbed as Mayor Sara Duterte Chess Online Cup.

The PCL headed by Founding Chairman NA Ringo Villagonzalo, President NA Cesar Calopez, 1st Vice President NA Dioniver "Bobot" Medrano and 2nd Vice President Engr.Rey Urbiztondo.-Marlon Bernardino-
