Chessmis TV beats Surigao Diamond

MANILA---The defending champion Chessmis TV Chess Team posted a 108-83 victory at the expense of the Surigao Diamond Portrait Knight Chess Team in the five minutes plus two seconds increment blitz format of the Philippine Chess League (PCL) Season 2 virtual tournament held through Lichess Platform.

"It was a huge win for us," said playing coach Jimmy Dano who tallied 7 points. We’re hoping we could carry the momentum," he added.

Anatoly Pascua and Arian Belly Calido chipped in 13 points markers, Reynaldo Abaa finishing with 10 points while team captain Nazario Ubanan and Junmark Baldesimo notch 9 points each.
Alji Cantonjos and Adrian Yulo collected 8 points apiece while Apollo Agapay, Michael Tinga, Lexis Bruce Portacion and Kharl Manliguez added 7 points.

Roberto Pablito P. Salomon Jr. contribute 5 points while John Percival Chua scored 2 points.

Ma. Arlene Antiquina Ablin scored 9 points in the female category while Christian Mendoza has 4 points in the kiddies event.
The PCL headed by Founding Chairman NA Ringo Villagonzalo, President NA Cesar Calopez, 1st Vice President NA Dioniver "Bobot" Medrano, 2nd Vice President Engr.Rey Urbiztondo and Tournament Director Engr. Joel Anthony Hicap.

The defending champion Chessmis TV Chess Team together with Surigao Diamond Portrait Knight Chess Team, Cosbusters Philippines Corp. Chess Team and San Miguel Chess Association will be seeing action in the Fischer random chess, also known as Chess960 of the last event to determine the top 2 teams who will be playing in the PCL grand finals.-Marlon Bernardino-
