Efren "Bata" Reyes has regained the top spot in the voting by pool fans for the two players who will clash in the Viewers Choice Ultimate 8-Ball Challenge Match on April 29.
Banking on the tremendous support following an appeal published by journalist Dong Secuya?s extremely popular Philboxing.com site for fans to vote for "The Magician", Reyes regained the No.1 position with one day left before the polls close.
Reyes led as of the latest tally with 22.85 percent of the votes cast while Austin Murphy, the teenaged American star was pushed back to second with 22.23 percent.
Early leader Vilmos Foldes of Hungary was third with 16.64 percent of the votes.
Teenager Murphy, a former World Junior Champion surged from out of nowhere to grab the lead a few days ago and engaged Reyes in a see-saw battle for the top spot. But the philboxing.com appeal appeared to have tilted the balance in favor of Reyes.
The voting ends at midnight (Central Time in the US) today and Filipino fans have been requested to continue their drive to ensure that Reyes retains the No. 1 spot and figures in the race-to-fifteen showdown on April 29.
