
FM Nouri sweeps Bulacan chess tilt

MANILA---Fide Master Alekhine Nouri of City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) swept his assignments and scored 8.0 points to rules the just concluded Governor Daniel R. Fernando 2nd Inter-Town Individual Open Chess Tournament (Over The Board) held last Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Provincial Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City, Bulacan.
Nouri's crucial win over Jhune Angelo Dultra in the eight and final round claimed the championship trophy and the coveted medal plus the top prize of P5,000.
Vince Duane Pascual, Joshua Heshed Crismo, Marc Benedict Caleon and National Master Eduardo Nario finished behind Nouri with identical 6.5 points, while Dultra, Cielito Sanchez, National Master Nick Nisperos, Samson "Chhiu Chhin" Lim and Genesis Taccaban have 6.0 points each to complete the top 10 winners.
Chief of Staff, Governor's Office Atty. Jayric Amil and Woman International Master Catherine Pereña-Secopito led the closing rites together with OIC, PYSPESO - Sports Division Mr. Benjamin Santos Jr.and Tournament Director Normel Benigno De Jesus.
PYSPESO is headed by its Department Head, Atty. Kenneth Ocampo-Lantin.
Nouri's triumph in the individual event complete the domination of the City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) Chess team who also won the 2-day team event last February 19 and 20, 2022.-Marlon Bernardino-
