
Melizah Ruth Carreon to compete in Tarlac chess tourney

MANILA---Melizah Ruth Carreon, one of the top players of the Cavite Spartans, will be competing in the First Alert Level 2 Non Master Open Chess Tournament (Over The Board) slated February 27, 2022 at the Barangay Caturay, Along Highway in Gerona, Tarlac.
"We are honored to have her play. She is known as the leading scorer of PCAP's Cavite Spartans," said Event Coordinator National Arbiter Alfred Miranda.
Other vying in the event are Paulo Cortez, Alanice Miranda, Jeffrey Pascual, Jacob Sta. Ana, Joseph Apelacio, Lowell Palarca, Rene Aquino, Ricardo Capinpin and loel Palarca.
The winner pocketing P5,000 while the second to fifth placers will receive P3,000, P1,000, P500 and P500, respectively.
