Chess tourney set in Bulacan

MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan---The Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando 2nd Inter-Town Chess Tournament (Team Tournament and Individual Tournament) is slated on February 19, 20 and 26, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City, Bulacan.

"Each City/Municipality can field a maximum of 2 team entries, 10 players per team," said Tournament Organizer Mr. Normel De Jesus.
The team champion will earn P25,000 plus a trophy and medals. The second placer will get P15,000 plus a trophy and medals, third 10,000 plus a trophy and medals, fourth P7,000 plus a trophy and medals and fifth P5,000 plus a trophy and medals.

“Teams expected to see action are coming from Malolos, Marilao, Meycauayan, San Jose Del Monte and Santa Maria,” said De Jesus.
The individual champion bagging P5,000 while the next four placers will pocket P3,500, P3,000, P2,000, and P1,500. The rest of the top 10 will receive P1,000.

Cash prizes also await for kiddies (14u), ladies, juniors (15-20) and seniors (50 above).

Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando has been invited to make welcoming messages with Board Member Alex Castro and Board Member Robert John Myron Nicolas.

Other officials who are going to attend the opening ceremonies are Atty. Kenneth Ocampo-Lantin, Department Head PYSPESO and Mr. Benjamin Santos Jr., OIC, Sports Division.
