Internationally respected matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz has warned AJ ?Bazooka? Banal that his undefeated opponent Caril ?El Raton? Herrera is a very strong and tough fighter.?

Lewkowicz noted that the Banal-Herrera showdown on the undercard of the WBO bantamweight mandatory title defense of Gerry Penalosa vs former world champion Ratanachai Sor Vorapin is an IBF title eliminator and ?elimination bouts are always tough.?

He said Herrera who is ranked No. 2 by the WBC and is undefeated in 21 fights with 13 wins by knockout is among the best in the super flyweight division.

Lewkowicz, regarded as one of the most astute men in boxing who helped convince promoter Murad Muhammad to sign up Manny Pacquiao when no other promoter appeared interested in Pacquiao who has grown into a Filipino ring idol and one of the most exciting fighters in the world today, said the Herrera-Banal battle ?is a tough fight which could turn out to be a quick knockout either way.?

He predicted ?a very good and entertaining fight since Herrera always comes forward? which is what fight fans want to see since.

The exciting fight card which marks the return of big-time pro boxing to the Araneta Coliseum, the ?Mecca? of Philippine sports and entertainment is being staged by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN together with Golden Boy Promotions and the ALA Gym of boxing patron Tony Aldeguer on Sunday morning with the big fights on the card being telecast starting at 9:00 a.m.

Lewkowicz said WBO Intercontinental junior featherweight champion Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista who has a record of 23-1 with 17 knockouts should have a comparatively easier time against Mexico?s Genaro Camargo whose record is 16-3 with 10 knockouts.
However, the matchmaker made it clear that Camargo was capable of giving Bautista a somewhat difficult time.

It was clear that the plan is to build Bautista?s confidence once again after his painful first round KO loss to the menacing WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon last August 11 in Sacramento, California.
