Jhulo Goloran wins Atty. Ellen Nieto Over The Board Chess Tournament

MANILA---Jhulo Goloran beat all of his five opponents to win the Atty. Ellen Nieto Over The Board Chess Tournament held at the Goldland Chess Club, Village East in Cainta, Rizal last Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Goloran finished with 5 points to win the top prize of P2,500 according to tournament manager Anthony Avellaneda.
11-year-old National Master Al-Basher "Basty" Buto took the second spot with 4 points for runner-up prize of P1,500.
Fondly called "Basty" in the chess world is a grade six pupil of Faith Christian School in Cainta, Rizal.
In third place was Aaron Domingo who had 3.5 points to settle for P1,000.
Also with 3.5 points are Errenz Denisson Calitisin and Alejandro "Doods" Segales.
Adjudged category winners were Salvador "Bobby" Dela Paz and Winson Perez (Top Senior), Abdul Rahman Buto (Top Highschool), Mar Aviel Carredo (Top Elementary), Anthony Pebenito (Top PWD), Gene Kenneth Estrellado (Top College), Rohanisah Buto (Top Lady) and Alysah Buto (Top Youngest).-Marlon Bernardino-
