The 12-year old Cu, a Grade 7 pupil of Xavier School in San Juan City came out on top with 6 points on account of six wins and one loss in seven outings in this 10 minutes plus 5 second increment time control format which attracted 86 young woodpushers.

Cu scored victories over Allie Jean Ong in the first round, Maria Kristine Lavandero in the second round, Richard Haiden Alarma in the third round, Yosef Immanuel Morada in the fourth round, Oshrie Jhames Reyes in the fifth round and Jian Carlo Rivera in the sixth and penultimate round.
