MANILA--- Engr. Ernie Faeldonia won another championship crown in the latest Aurel Haber 55th Birthday Chess Tournament held at lichess platform last October 23, 2021, 8:00 PM onwards.
Faeldonia collected a total of 8.5 points, with 8 wins, 2 losses & 1 draw in an 11 round swiss system with a time control of 5 minutes and zero increments in the event sponsor by Engr./Pastor Aurel Haber.
Rounding up to the top 7 winners were Jerry Jher Jr Morada (2nd), Nephtali Neph Bantang (3rd), Joel Jojo Forcadas (4th), Eric Mordido (5th), Emmanuel Reyes Jr. (6th) and Joel Formon (7th).
Adjudged category winners were Rey Fajarito (Top Briiliant move, 35 centipawn loss), Jerick Concepcion Faeldonia (top kiddie), Jemaicah Yap Mendoza (Top lady ), Jenny Rico Fajilan (Fastest Win, 5 moves), Jeremiah Yap Mendoza (Top 1950) and Eddie Mame (Top 1850).
Meanwhile, Oriental Mindoro Chess Federation Inc. defeated Romblon Marbles Chess Team on their 5th Team Battle via 209-205 final scores.
The 5th team battle was held at lichess platform with a time control of 3 minutes plus 2 seconds increment. With the victory of, OMCFI, they came closer to a 3-2 standing where the Romblomanon is only ahead of 1 point.
