
AGM Dandel Fernandez strikes again in Sharjah over the board chess tourney

MANILA, Philippines---Arena Grandmaster (AGM) Dandel Fernandez, a consistent winner of the Sharjah over the board chess tournaments, stamped his class again by topping the 1st Sharjah Challengers ICC - 2021 Group B was held from September 17 to 25, 2021 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Fernandez, an employee at Saudi German Hospital Dubai, tallied 9.5 points to rule the scheveningen system format double round robin tournament.
"I would like to dedicate my victory to my family, my co-worker and friends and to God," Fernandez said.
Last August, Fernandez, the pride of Novelty Chess Club settled third in the August Classical Tournament 2021 (Sharjah Chess Open Standard Over the Board) held at the Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
He also spearheaded his company in the last World Corporate Chess Championship.-Marlon Bernardino-
